Founders Bridge // Chesterfield County
Founders Bridge is an upscale community in NW Chesterfield County accessed via Route 288 or Robious Road. It is comprised of estate styled single family homes and as well as 'empty-nester' targeted homes.
The community straddles the county line between Powhatan and Chesterfield and wraps around the Independence Golf Course. Construction of the golf course began in fall of 2000 with the initial sections of homes soon thereafter in 2001.
The homes in Chesterfield are in the much desired Bette Weaver Elementary, Robious Middle and James River High School district. The homes range in size from 3600 square feet to over 9000 square feet and are a mix of colonial, contemporary and transitional with a high degree of customization.
The Powhatan side of the community offers a varied selection of 'empty-nester' living for those seeking a lower maintenance option. The homes range in size from 2700 square feet to over 4000 square feet.
The Virginia State Golf Association Foundation is headquartered in the Founders Bridge community and offers an 18 hole championship golf course and 9 hole par three course designed by Tom Fazio. The Independence Golf Course has been home to the Virginia State Open for the past six years.
The Founders Bridge Community offers over 2 miles of walking trails, a two-pool swimming complex and unique community center for meetings and gatherings. The golf is public and residents get a break on the price and preferred tee times.
