Park Avenue // Richmond's Fan District
Located in Richmond’s Fan District and continuing west all the way to the Henrico line, Park Avenue’s most compelling stretches are the ones east of Lombardy.
From its origin at Harrison Street on VCU's western edge, Park has a narrowness and somewhat meandering path that gives it an almost European feel that is unique within The Fan. The 1400 - 1500 blocks, where Hanover Avenue breaks away at an odd angle, overlooks one of only a handful of green spaces interspersed throughout the district. Lombardy Park, formed by the intersection of Park, Hanover and Lombardy gives the block a softer and less dense feel. The park is a popular attraction for families and others seeking a peaceful setting to enjoy some outdoor time. It also lowers the parking need for these blocks and gives many of the homes additional sunlight and space.
Architectural styles include those common to the Fan District with a high degree of diversity within a relatively short stretch.
