Three Chopt Road // City of Richmond
Three Chopt Road is long.
Beginning at the awkward intersection of Cary Street Road and River Road across from the Westhampton course at County Club of Virginia (CCV), Three Chopt road winds past the Ridge Shopping Center and throughout Western Henrico to the Goochland County line...gradually changing its feel as it moves west.
The stretch from Cary/River to the City/County line is by far one of the most fascinating in the Metro with a blend of estate homes, CCV, the entrance to University of Richmond and the private schools of St Catherine's and St Bridget's all located within the corridor. The homes are in the same vein of the Richmond Traditional architectural styles of the 1930's to 1950's.
Legend says that Three Chopt Road's name comes from a colonial era trail that was marked by three notches in trees to define its path.
